Taking a break from practice, having some fun, and getting wet.
Greetings 2016 Panther Tennis Players,
We are excited to announce that the first tennis practice will begin August 15, at 8:00am at the tennis courts. The plan will be to wrap up practice by 11:00 a.m. the first week. After the official school year commences, we will start practice promptly at 3:15p.m at the courts and conclude by 5:15pm.
The tennis program is always looking for new players and our plea is more desperate than usual, so invite your friends to come check out how much fun tennis really is. It’s a great life-long sport, you’ll have fun learning and playing the game of tennis along with your teammates. Please come check out the first practices (and hopefully the entire season) to find out what we’re talking about.
Athletes, your coaches for the tennis program this year, Mr. O’Brien (hopefully, if numbers permit) will be heading the JV department and Mr. Grieger the Varsity Coach. We will both bring our eagerness to help every student/player and a great sense of humor to keep practices fun, lively, and promote an atmosphere of teamwork and success. We hope to build on our skills and abilities from coaching other sports, extracurriculars and tennis from last year.
A huge reminder that all participants need a physical on file to be eligible to play. All 7th graders and most 10th graders will need physicals. Please take care of this before the start of practice, because our first match is after only four days of practice, Friday, August 19 at 9:00 a.m. @ home. You can pick up all the necessary forms at the high school office.
Again, we invite all 7-12 grade girls who may have any inkling at interest in playing tennis to our first week of practice to see what it’s all about. The school has tennis racquets you can use, so, just come in comfortable clothing and shoes and bring a water bottle. Please don’t hesitate to contact your coaches if you have any questions regarding the program/team. We are looking forward to seeing you on the courts and having another great year of Panther Tennis.
