About Me

This is my ninth year of teaching, my second at Parkers Prairie High School. My previous seven were at Rosholt High School in South Dakota. Over my career, I have taught a wide array of classes and coached/advised multiple extra-curricular activities. My wife Danielle works teaching preschool at New York Mills Public Schools. In our family, Lillian is five, Reed is two and a half and a dog, Remi, a 7 year old labradoodle.
I grew up on a hobby farm near New York Mills, MN where I was the oldest child, I have a younger sister and brother. Our farm had animals such as horses, dogs, rabbits, cats, and sometimes a lone cow. Many of the animals were used for 4-H projects at the East Ottertail County Fair in Perham. My parents continue to have a bountiful garden that we harvest vegetables from and freeze or can. Some of my fondest childhood memories are from the family lake cabin on Big Pine Lake. We swim, lay on the lily-pad, ski, sail, tube, and fish as much as we can. During my high school career in New York Mills, I was involved in knowledge bowl, basketball, student council, NHS, NYM fishing league and one of the last boys tennis teams. I attended MSUM Moorhead and graduated Cum Laude in 2007 with a degree in social studies education. When not in school, I enjoy manicuring my lawn, minor remodeling projects in our home and anything outdoors.
